Record Store Day 2020 - RSD Drops

The next drops are Saturday September 26th and October 24th. All new Sept 26th titles and any extra August 29th stock will ALL be available on Saturday September 26th ONLINE ONLY at 9am.

All updates, relevant information is posted here! We recommend following our Instagram Vinyl page at @happyvallyvinyl for further updates.

Please Note :

* There will be a limit of one copy of each title per customer.

* A few days before each drop we will list what titles we have available on the day, the quantities and the price of each title.

* Due to the expected demand, some titles will sell out quickly. Our website is powered by Shopify, you will get a email notification if your order is successful.

Please note: Shopify works out stock levels after payment has been successful, if stock runs out it may disappear from your cart and or at checkout. There may be disappointment, clearly this is out of our control.

* Any titles not sold out on the day will remain on the website for sale until sold out.

* If you live within 5kms of our Collingwood shop you can choose 'click and collect'. Your vinyl can be collected onwards from Monday September 28th, we will email to confirm collection details.

The Black Keys - Lets Rock (3 Copies at $90 each) // Exclusively for Record Store Day, The Black Keys have issued a limited edition 45-RPM version of their chart-topping 9th album “Let’s Rock.” The 45-RPM version of the album is limited to 7500 pieces worldwide! It’s a gorgeous 180-Gram 2-LP set in a deluxe holographic gatefold jacket, with each piece individually numbered.

The Boys Next Door - 'Door, Door" (1 Copy $70) // 40th Anniversary reissue of the first album featuring Nick Cave, before the band’s name morphed into The Birthday Party and prior to the formation of his next band, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.

Britney Spears - 'Oops!...I Did It Again (Remixes and B-Sides)' (6 Copies at $45) // This new collection, exclusively on vinyl for Record Store Day 2020 features four rare remixes of the hits “Oops!...I Did It Again,” “Lucky,” “Stronger” and “Don’t Let Me Be The Last To Know,” plus four rare songs from the album sessions only released outside the U.S., including a cover of The Jets’ classic ballad “You Got It All.”

Charli XCX - Vroom Vroom EP (Clear 12" Vinyl) (10+ Copies at $48 each) // A four song EP, produced by Charli XCX and SOPHIE. Pressed on clear vinyl and physically available for the first time. Digitally released in 2016. 

Datarock - 'Datarock, Datarock' (Orange Vinyl) (3 Copies at $60 each) // Datarock, Datarock is finally on vinyl for Record Store Day. Datarock is known for their red tracksuits, cross-over party music and indie bangers like Fa Fa Fa. 2

David Bowie - I'm Only Dancing (The Soul Tour 74) (1 Copy at $90) // I’m Only Dancing - Taken from recently discovered sources in The David Bowie Archive®, I’m Only Dancing (The Soul Tour 74) was recorded mostly during David’s performance at the Michigan Palace, Detroit on 20th October, 1974, with the encores taken from the Municipal Auditorium, Nashville on 30th November, 1974.

Dinosaur JR – 'Swedish Fist' (Live In Stockholm - Coloured Vinyl) (1 Copy at $70) // Recorded at Stockholm’s legendary Vattenfestival (or Water Festival), during the 1997 European tour, ‘Swedish Fist’ captures Dinosaur Jr on ear-bleeding form, months before the group disbanded and undertook an eight year hiatus. Performing material from across their career, including the classic ‘Freakscene’ and long-term live favourite ‘Sludgefeast’.

The Doors - Soft Parade: Stripped (1 Copy at $70) // A limited and numbered edition, pressed on vinyl for the first time. 

Fleetwood Mac - The Alternate Rumours (10+ Copies at $55 each) // The 1LP album of alternate takes mirroring the original album, from the “Rumours” deluxe edition. Alternate takes include early versions and alternate versions for “Gold Dust Woman”, “The Chain”, “Don’t’ Stop”, “Dreams” and “Second Hand News”. On vinyl for the very first time.

Glass Animal & Denzel Curry - Tokyo Drifting (Picture Disc Vinyl) (10+ Copies at $48 each) // Glass Animals release a special 12” picture disc, featuring smash single "Tokyo Drifting" featuring Denzel Curry and an instrumental version of the track, exclusively for Record Store Day.

Gorillaz – 'G-Sides' (10+ Copies at $60 each) // Originally released on CD in Japan 2001, and in 2002 in Europe and the US, this is the first time the album will be available on vinyl. The album is a collection of 10 b-sides and remixes from their debut album, "Gorillaz", and the "Tomorrow Comes Today" EP. The audio has been remastered and is pressed on 180 gram vinyl.

Gorillaz - 'D-Sides' // (10 Copies at $100 each) D-Sides" is a compilation of b-sides and remixes from singles and bonus tracks for Gorillaz second album, "Demon Days." The 22 track album also includes unreleased tracks recorded during the album session. Originally released in 2007, this is the first time "D-sides" has been available on vinyl. The audio has been remastered and the 3-LP set is pressed on 180g vinyl.

Kevin Morby - Oh Mon Dieu: Live In Paris (2LP Red Live Album) (1 Copy at $55) // 16 Track live album!

Linton Kwesi Johnson - Bass Culture / LKJ In Dub (Red & Green Vinyl) (10+ Copies at $75 each) // 40th anniversary 2-LP edition of 'dub poet' Linton Kwesi Johnson's classic 1980 album, released on Island Records, with additional LP - 'LKJ in Dub', featuring dub versions of tracks from Bass Culture and previous studio LP 'Forces Of Victory'. 

Mac DeMarco - // Other Here Comes The Cowboy : Demos (Vinyl) (3 Copies at $45 each) 2020 Record Store Day exclusive, limited to 3000 pressings in purple vinyl... The album consists of 11 previously unreleased demos that were recorded during the “Here Comes The Cowboys” sessions at the Jizz Jazz Studios in Los Angeles California in 2018.

Nas – 'God’s Son' (Blue & White Swirl 2LP Vinyl) (5 Copies at $65 each) // Housed in a high gloss jacket with each LP tucked into a printed inner sleeve, Gods Son has been out of print on vinyl since its initial 2002 release, remastered from its original audio and pressed on exclusive coloured vinyl!

New Order - Peel Session '82 // (1 Copy at $48) A 4 track 12”  E.P. (playing at 33 1/3) featuring New Order’s session for John Peel’s radio show broadcast on 1st June, 1982. The release features a newly a created Peter Saville sleeve.

Paul McCartney - McCartney (50th Anniversary Vinyl) (1 Copy at $60) // The 50th anniversary Record Store Day limited edition of McCartney was pressed from a master cut by Miles Showell at half speed using the original 1970 master tapes at Abbey Road Studios. It was made as a vinyl specific transfer in high resolution and without digital peak limiting for the best possible reproduction.

Ravi Shankar - Chants Of India (Red Vinyl) (1 Copy at $60) // For the first time on vinyl, Ravi Shankar’s 1997 collaboration with George Harrison, Chants of India. The album was produced by George Harrison and recorded in both India and at Harrison’s Friar Park studio in England.

Soundtrack - 'Hackers' (2LP) (10 Copies at $60 each) // For the first time on vinyl, the definitive soundtrack to the film 'Hackers' is being released in conjunction with the 25th anniversary. The double LP features tracks that were not on the original soundtrack like ''Protection'' by Massive Attack and ''Open Up'' by Leftfield, as well as ''Hackers Suite'' performed by composer Simon Boswell. The commemorative gatefold packaging includes notes from Director/Producer Iain Softley & unreleased photos.

Surfer Blood - Astro Coast (1 Copy at $55) // Includes download code. Limited to 2,000 copies worldwide. Gatefold vinyl. Exclusive color vinyl. For the 10th anniversary, Surfer Blood revisit their most popular release and include some never before heard material.

Tegan & Sara - Tonight We’re In The Dark Seeing Colors (Live Album – Purple Splatter Vinyl) (2 Copies at $70 each) // Recorded live from their “Hey, I’m Just Like You” Tour.

Tyler, The Creator - Chur Bum (Instrumentals) (7 Copies at $60) // Though it was released with almost no advance promotion, Tyler, The Creator’s 2015 album Cherry Bomb was anything but unplanned. The fourth album from the Odd Future co-founder remains one of his most ambitious, featuring everything from lush orchestras to hard-driving guitars across its. Now, for the first time on vinyl, the instrumental version of the album (first released as a digital edition in 2018) will be available for all fans to experience. Opaque pink vinyl version exclusively for Record Store Day 2020. 

The Unrighteous Brothers - Unchained Melody / You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' (7" Vinyl) (2 Copies at $25 each) // Breakthrough Masked Country Artist Orville Peck joins Paul Cauthen for two jukebox classics. As The Unrighteous Brothers, the duo of hardcore troubadours make an updated classic that showcases both artists' booming baritone. Produced by Butch Walker and Beau Bedford, the songs were cut in Nashville at the legendary RCA Studio A. Available for the first time on any physical format.

The Weeknd - My Dear Melancholy (Etched Vinyl) (10+ Copies at $50 each) // Our most popular title from August RSD (and sold out in less than 2 minutes!)...and we've locked in more copies for September's RSD! The Weeknd's No. 1  album My Dear Melancholy, available for the first time ever on vinyl. The six songs from this project, including the hit single "Call Out My Name" are featured on Side A of the 180-gram vinyl. Side B features an etched design to make this record a true collector's item.  


Freddie Gibbs & Madlib - 'Pinata: The 1974 Version' // This single LP edit of Piñata has been lacquered at halfspeed master by Metropolis Mastering in London for the highest fidelity and is housed in a Blaxploitation themed cover. The cover is a collaboration between Jeff Jank and Pathetic Pixels with inspiration found in the unique graphics and content of 1970s Blaxploitation films.

Lou Reed & John Cale – 'Songs For Drella' (2LP) // 30th Anniversary edition of Lou Reed’s album recorded with John Cale (Both formerly co-founders of The Velvet Underground) the concept album is a tribute to their friend and mentor “Andy Warhol” who had died a couple of years earlier…and includes an etching on Side 4.

Jon Brion - 'Synecdoche New York' (White Vinyl) // The soundtrack to Charlie Kaufman’s 2009 cult movie Synecdoche New York starring the late Philip Seymour Hoffman is released for the first time on white vinyl.

Soundtrack - 'The Virgin Suicides' (Music From The Motion Picture) // Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Sofia Coppola’s directorial debut movie, “The Virgin Suicides (Music from the Motion Picture)” will be released on vinyl for the first time since its original release in 2000, exclusively for RSD 2020. The soundtrack features music from Steely Dan, Todd Rundgren, Boston, Heart, Al Green, 10CC, Styx and two tracks from Air, including one track composed for the film.

The Church - 'Gold Afternoon Fix' (Limited Gold) // First-ever vinyl reissue of the 1990 album from Australian indie rock legends The Church!
