Nightmarish trance-pop? ASMR gabber? Lysergic new age? A. G. Cook's eagerly-awaited soundtrack to A24's upcoming Charli XCX vehicle 'The Moment' has it all, even a xenharmonic beatless remix of Icona Pop's 'I Love It'.

Since it was announced in January last year, 'The Moment' has confused just about anyone who's interacted with its rollout. Charli Aitchison's interest in movies is pretty well documented at this point - her upcoming soundtrack for Emerald Fennell's 'Wuthering Heights' adaptation is expected to arrive only weeks after 'The Moment' emerges - but this was still unexpected, a "2024 period piece" or mockumentary that materialised after a 'Sweat' tour text back-and-forth between Aitchison and Glaswegian director Aidan Zamiri.
