This legendary album arrives as a limited edition, housed in a deluxe heavyweight sleeve with selective varnish printing and a special paper obi belt.

Written, directed, and edited by Takeshi Kitano - who also stars as the film’s lead - Sonatine is a masterful entry in Kitano’s filmography, alongside Boiling Point, Hana-Bi, Battle Royale, and Ghost in the Shell. A true multi-hyphenate, Kitano is a director, screenwriter, comedian, actor, and cultural icon known worldwide.

Joe Hisaishi, one of the greatest composers of all time, has scored over 100 films, including Kitano’s A Scene at the Sea, Kikujiro, and Brother, as well as beloved Studio Ghibli classics like My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, and Spirited Away. His work on Sonatine highlights his more introspective, minimalist side, crafting an evocative neoclassical and ambient journey that remains one of his personal favorites.
