King Hannah - Tell Me Your Mind And I'll Tell You Mine (Vinyl)

Tell Me Your Mind and I'll Tell You Mine is the debut EP by British rock band King Hannah. It was released November 20, 2020.

The band was formed by Liverpool native Craig Whittle who brought Hannah Merrick in to create an interesting collaboration which had been brewing in the the back of Whittle’s mind for quite a time. Although in it’s infancy, the band has a natural timeless quality, feeling as though they’re old souls having been reborn for a new generation to love. A clear influence of blues and grunge/indie rock can be heard, but this band sits uniquely on their own, creating a sound which is nostalgic but somehow refreshing.      

Tell Me Your Mind and I'll Tell You Mine is an impressive debut release, seemingly broken into two distinctive sounds. The first half of the EP carries twangy, steel Americana sounds and acoustic rumblings while the second half is heavier and more surreal, clearly influenced by the shoegaze movement which was prevalent in the UK during the late 80’s and early 90’s.

Merrick’s vocals shine through each song like torchlight, intimate and vulnerable, carrying a Lana Del Ray dreamy and melancholic quality. This marries beautifully with the bands raw, dynamic and authentic sound, without an ounce of polish or protentiousness to be found. Just meticulously written songs, presented in an accessible, high quality and humble package.
