21 Bum Salute is the fifth album from Sydney experimental psych-noise-pop duo Party Dozen: Kirsty Tickle on saxophone and vocals, and Jonathan Boulet on drums, loops and production.
Emerging from Sydney’s experimental noise-rock scene in 2017, Party Dozen have developed their blend of psych-tinged rock, pop noise and bursts of doom across four previous albums. Their work has taken them around the world, including tours with Amyl and the Sniffers, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Tropical F*ckstorm and Algiers.
The duo recorded, mixed and mastered 21 Bum Salute themselves over three months. Inspired by eerie old recordings and the primal energy of acts including ESG and Bikini Kill, the album condenses years of jam sessions, loops and improvisations into just over half an hour.
